There is no Bad Day for an Art Teacher

My students always ask me where do I get all the brilliant and fancy idea about Art since I haven't experience teaching Art before. So they've been talking about it. Well, here's the story behind everything;

1. Because I'm brilliant, that's why I produced brilliant things too. (Hahaha, ignore this I'm silly)

I have explored few websites or persons who'd provided all this kind of stuff in his/her website. So i googled them, and explore it, and experience it myself, then i deliver it to all of my students. Isn't life is beautiful this way? Yes it is.

My favourite for art & craft is Martha Stewart website. You can have plenty of idea with fabulousity.

No more bad day for an Art Teacher, even you runs out of idea and lessons plan, just go to this website and find something useful for your students. Click website below for Martha Stewart craft archive.

Gasing is Spinning Top

Making traditional games is one of the 'Kurikulum Standard Sekolah Rendah'. So we have decided on making our own top or gasing in Bahasa Malaysia. After explanation in the class, Primary 2 & 3 students had their experience on making their own 'gasing' by using paper instead of wood. It could be too dangerous for Primary 2 & 3 students to carve wood by themselves.

Well at least, it's still in the curriculum. 15 mins before the class end, we are all playing with gasing by poking a pencil in the middle of the gasing and see who's the fastest among them.

Andy Warhol - Pheww

It's not easy to recognize all the popular artists/painters but I do try my best to get inspired by at least the most prestige artists. Yes, the God of Pop Art Andy Warhol. If you ask me what kind of Art genre that I'm into, the answer most probably is Pop Art. I feel like there's a special connection between me and him but I don't know which part of it (evil laughs). Well here's something about him that I got from Wikipedia;

"Andy Warhol (August 6, 1928 – February 22, 1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States of America dedicated to a single artist."

Campbell's Soup (1968)

Moonwalk, 1987

I just can't express how I'm loving all his artwork(s). It's just so special and really extraordinary. He make things possible and I believe he makes others think that way too. People actually paying their tributes towards him by opening a foundations with his name to promote pop art and visual fine arts.

Well I think that should all for now.
xoxo.

Not So New.

Let's start all over again. More posts to come.
